The International Union of Railways (UIC) develops and distributes International Railway Solutions (IRSs) in order to help railway stakeholders, achieve further harmonisation and collaboration. The purpose of this IRS is to give recommendations for carrying out series tests on diesel engines and for the guarantee conditions to be agreed. It is addressed to Railway Undertakings, Manufacturers and Entities in charge of the maintenance of railway vehicles.
