1.1 This test method covers the determination of the phthalic anhydride content (Note 1) of alkyd resins and resin solutions, including those containing styrene. Note 1-This test method is not applicable for the determination of phthalic anhydride in alkyd resins containing other dibasic acids such as maleic or fumaric, or modifying agents such as urea, melamine, and phenolic resins. 1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. |
