The material shall be appropriately sampled and tested, and shall conform to the following specified requirements: apparent specific gravity; color (Pt-Co units); distillation range (initial boiling point and dry point); water content; acidity as acetic acid; diethylene glycol content; and iron content.

1.1?This specification covers ethylene glycol for use in the preparation of surface coatings. 1.2?The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard.
