1.1 This test method covers a procedure for evaluating the chemical resistance of a protective lining applied to a steel substrate. The method closely approximates the service conditions, including the temperature differential between the external and internal surfaces of the equipment, which may accelerate permeation of the lining by a corrosive media. This test method may be used to simulate actual field use conditions insofar as a qualitative evaluation of the lining system after a predetermined period of exposure. 1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. |
