1.1 This specification covers the physical property requirements of elastomeric seals (gaskets) used to seal the joints of precast concrete structures conforming to Specifications C 14, C 14M, C 118, C 118M, C 361, C 361M, C 443, C 443M, C 505, or C 505M used in gravity and low head pressure applications. 1.2 Requirements are given for natural or synthetic rubber gaskets, or a combination of both. 1.3 Values stated in imperial units are to be regarded as the standard. 1.4The following precautionary caveat pertains only to the test method portion, Section 8, of this specification. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
