Currently brake cylinders are not governed by an EN or ISO standard. Consequently in 2012 UIC SET 7 (Braking) decided to create a Working Group with the objective of defining the requirements and the specifications for the certification of brake cylinders/units in the form of a new Leaflet. Since September 2012 the newly founded WG B 126.22 worked on the specifications and presented the new Leaflet 541-01 in January 2016.
